So, I thought it might be helpful for others if I shared my easy tricks of getting more protein into my food choices each day. It doesn't have to be complicated, just do what you can with what you have, and pretty soon you will be a protein eating pro!
Everybody knows Rice Krispies are made up almost entirely of air. So eating Rice Krispie chicken paprikash squares is just like eating air. That thick layer of fudge on the top is just required to keep the squares from floating away. It's a totally guilt-free snack. In fact, eat the whole pan and you'll actually get LIGHTER because you're eating so much air.
Take 100% responsibility in your life. Jack Canfield teaches the equation E (event) R (response) = O (outcome). You generally have no control over the external events in your life. However, you have 100% control over your response to that event. Respond wisely. Stop making excuses. You are not a victim.
Little did I imagine that it was the most basic life I ever experienced! The weather was awful and we could, of course, not wear our city shoes. The farmer's wife provided paprika chicken us with Dutch clogs. If one has ever experienced wearing such things, then you know that wearing them hurts your feet.
Combine the cider vinegar with the apple juice, brown sugar and reserved spice. Mix well. Set aside 1 1/2 cups of this mixture for later use. The remaining amount will be used to baste the pork shoulder during the long cooking process; do this about every 45 minutes and turn the pork shoulder over at the same time. You want to cook the pork shoulder until it reaches an whole chicken calories temperature of 190 degrees F; this should take about 8 hours. Remove the cooked pork from the gas grill and let it rest for 20 minutes, then shred with two forks. Place the pulled pork into a serving dish.
Another thing you can do is to cook in large batches. For example, on Sunday night you should cook a whole bag of frozen chicken for your family. You can add different types seasonings to them so that there are different flavors for each piece of chicken in the crock pot. Then you'll want to wrap up each piece of chicken individually and put it in the refrigerator. You'll want to do the same thing with pasta or rice.
Some butter in a skillet, then lay a flour tortilla in the pan and top with grated cheddar and thinly sliced apple on one side. Fold the tortilla in half and cook until golden on both sides. Cut into wedges.
And while my kids are beginning to lighten up and realize that their relatives are not from outer space, I realize that my extended family is unlike any other in the whole world. And that's cool.
