Sean Kelly's is certainly one-of-a-kind for Missoula; technically, there are now two of a kind with its second more dramatic eatery location on North Reserve. This Irish pub house is locally famous for its hearty Irish menu, boasting corned beef and cabbage, Shepherd's pie cooked in Guinness, and many other delightful entrees. Though not traditional, they even offer a coconut curry tofu dish, Indian food, and a variety of rich pastas. This certainly is "where the Gaelic and the garlic mix," as Sean Kelly's claims.

Abigail's Grille and Wine Bar, Simsbury Connecticut: This circa 1780 tavern, formerly Pettibone's Tavern, is named after it's resident female ghost "Abigail". Abigail enjoys appearing in the woman's restroom mirror and moving tables after closing. She also has a habit of touching people on the back. Employees have seen wine bottles fall off the shelves by themselves and have heard disembodied voices. Abigail's is offering a complete St. Patrick's Day dinner for 17.95. It includes leek and potato soup or garden salad for an appetizer, corned beef and cabbage for dinner and shamrock pie for dessert.

Braising is almost the same as stewing - braising is normally applied to larger or whole cuts of meat slowly cooked in a liquid, whilst stewing is used when referring to cut or smaller pieces cooked (wholly immersed) in a liquid. Notice I didn't say 'boiled' or 'simmered' That's what we call it when you see a visible bubbling of the cooking liquid. In fact braising is best done at a low temperature of around 85 degrees C / 185 degrees C with an almost imperceptible shimmer - not a rolling boil. Braising refers to this cooking in liquid, so technically you can braise anything. Vegetables, fruit, chicken, fish.
It reminded me of Tommy's chili, delicious. Then it was on to the Yakisoba Dog from Dogzilla- what a combination of flavors. Spicy with a hint of sweetness and just salty enough. The yakisoba noodles, okonomi sauce and crunch of the slaw were outstanding, and the dog itself had great flavor, and yes, the snap! Which leads me to believe that if you have a great dog to begin with, anything you add is icing on the cake.

The Glen of Imaal Terrier comes from Glen of Imaal, which is a valley in the Wicklow mountains. Longer than tall and sporting a double coat of medium length, the "Glen" possesses great strength and conveys the impression of a dog of good substance. This is a working terrier, who must have the agility, freedom of movement and endurance to do the work for which it was developed. Like its Irish counterparts, the Glen is also courageous, and always ready to give chase. When working, it is active, agile, silent and intent upon its game. Otherwise, the Glen can be a docile companion for families with older children.
